US Court Releases Purported Jeffrey Epstein Suicide Note

A federal court in the United States has released a purported suicide note allegedly written by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein weeks before his death in a New York jail in 2019.

The document was made public on Wednesday by Judge Kenneth Karas of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York following a request by The New York Times.

According to court records, the note was reportedly discovered by Epstein’s former cellmate inside a book after what authorities described as a failed suicide attempt in July 2019, weeks before Epstein’s eventual death.

The handwritten letter, written on lined paper, contained statements including: “They investigated me for months — Found NOTHING!!!” and “It is a treat to be able to choose one’s time to say goodbye.”

The note concluded with the words: “Watcha want me to do — Bust out cryin!! No fun — NOT WORTH IT!!”

Although the authenticity of the document has not been independently verified, its release has renewed public attention on the circumstances surrounding Epstein’s death while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.

Epstein died in August 2019 at a detention facility in New York City. Authorities ruled the death a suicide, but the case has remained the subject of widespread speculation and controversy.

Questions surrounding the incident intensified after reports of security lapses at the jail, including malfunctioning or missing CCTV footage and failures in inmate monitoring procedures.

The newly released note had remained sealed for years as part of legal proceedings involving Epstein’s former cellmate.

The Epstein case continues to generate political and legal attention in both the United States and the United Kingdom, particularly as additional court records and investigative documents connected to the financier and his associates continue to emerge.
