Chelsea Dismiss Head Coach Liam Rosenior After Poor Run of Form

Chelsea FC have sacked head coach Liam Rosenior following a disappointing run of results in the Premier League.

The decision comes after the Blues suffered five consecutive league defeats without scoring, a slump that intensified pressure on the club’s technical crew and raised concerns over their campaign ambitions.

Rosenior’s stint at Stamford Bridge lasted just over three months, having taken charge in January. His tenure, which spanned approximately 23 matches, ranks among the shortest for a permanent manager in the club’s recent history.

In a statement confirming the development, Chelsea said the decision was not taken lightly but became necessary due to underwhelming performances.

“Chelsea Football Club has today parted company with Head Coach Liam Rosenior,” the club said.

“Liam has always conducted himself with the highest integrity and professionalism following his appointment midway through the season. However, recent results and performances have fallen below the necessary standards, with still so much more to play for this season.”

The club expressed appreciation for Rosenior and his backroom staff, wishing them success in their future endeavours.

Chelsea also announced that Calum McFarlane will assume the role of interim head coach until the end of the season, supported by the existing technical team.

The club noted that the interim arrangement is part of efforts to stabilise the squad while pursuing key objectives, including qualification for European competitions and progress in the FA Cup.

Chelsea added that it will begin a thorough review process aimed at securing a long-term managerial appointment as it seeks to restore consistency and competitiveness.
